At the 2024–25 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) awards, Mariona Caldentey of Arsenal and Mohamed Salah of Liverpool took home the top honors.
Along with Alexis Mac Allister of Liverpool, Declan Rice of Arsenal, Cole Palmer of Chelsea, Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United, and Alexander Isak of Newcastle United, Salah was included on a shortlist of six players.
After a vote by PFA members, the Egyptian international was declared the winner on Monday night.
As a result, after taking first place in 2017–18 and 2021–22, Salah is now the first person to win the PFA men’s player of the year award three times.
In 38 Premier League games for Arne Slot’s team, Salah scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists, earning him the award for his exceptional play in Liverpool’s championship victory.

Caldentey is awarded the Women’s Award.
After an outstanding debut season with the Gunners, Caldentey of Arsenal was named PFA women’s player of the year, while Salah received the men’s award.
In addition to Chelsea’s Erin Cuthbert, Manchester United’s Phallon Tullis-Joyce, and the Manchester City duo of Mary Fowler and Yui Hasegawa, Caldentey defeated her Arsenal teammate Alessia Russo to win the award.
The Spain international finished the 2024–25 Women’s Super League season with nine goals and five assists.
In the Women’s Champions League, Caldentey also scored eight goals, assisting the Gunners in winning the trophy for the second time in their history.
Smith and Rodgers are named young players of the year.
The PFA Men’s Young Player of the Year award went to Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa, who topped a shortlist that also included Milos Kerkez, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
In 37 Premier League games last season, Rodgers scored eight goals and provided eleven assists, earning him a call-up to the England squad.
Olivia Smith, who joined Arsenal in the summer, won the women’s young player of the year award after having an incredible season with Liverpool.
The Canada international topped a shortlist that included Grace Clinton and Aggie Beever-Jones after scoring seven goals in 20 WSL games.
