Even though he has been linked to a move this summer, Real Madrid forward Endrick is reportedly adamant about remaining at the Santiago Bernabeu.
In order for Endrick to formally join the team in the summer of 2024, Los Blancos and Palmeiras reached an agreement in 2022 for €72 million (£62.6 million).
Endrick had a difficult first season at Real Madrid after joining last summer, starting just eight of his 37 games in the competition.
Endrick’s season was made even more challenging when he was forced to miss the Club World Cup in the USA due to a hamstring injury he sustained against Real Sociedad in the season’s last game.
Regretfully, Endrick lost the opportunity to make an impression on the new Real Madrid manager by missing the Club World Cup.
The Brazilian has been linked to a possible loan departure this summer, raising questions about whether he will be at the club for Alonso’s first season as manager.
ESPN claims that Endrick’s “priority” is to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu instead of thinking about leaving on loan.
The 19-year-old is eager to emulate Vinicius Junior and Arda Guler, who stuck with the team after initially having trouble finding their best form upon joining.
Endrick appears to be concentrating on getting better from his injury so that he can return to the field and show Alonso how valuable he is.
But according to the same ESPN report, Real Madrid is open to loaning him out before the transfer window shuts later this summer.
Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe are anticipated to be consistent starters in the front line of Alonso’s two-forward formation.
Endrick would be a backup, but after Gonzalo Garcia’s breakthrough performance at the Club World Cup, he seems to have fallen in the hierarchy.
Therefore, Real Madrid believes that Endrick’s “best option” would be to go on loan in order to get regular playing time.
A loan move might also be the best way for the young player to make an impression on Carlo Ancelotti before the World Cup the following year.
For Ancelotti, the current head coach of the Brazil national team, to take Endrick into consideration, he will undoubtedly need to witness him playing consistently at a high level.
