Alexander-Arnold's Real Madrid contract length 'revealed' ahead of Liverpool exit

According to reports, Trent Alexander-Arnold, defender for Liverpool, has decided to sign a long-term deal with Real Madrid. When his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the current campaign, the player will depart his boyhood club, he confirmed Monday morning.

Alexander-Arnold has finally decided that he wants to try a new experience at this point in his career, despite Liverpool’s repeated contract offers to keep him at Anfield. It is now only a matter of time until the 26-year-old is officially announced as the latest star name to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The Athletic reports that Alexander-Arnold has committed to a six-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu through the summer of 2031. According to the report, the right-back is anticipated to sign his Real Madrid contract in the upcoming weeks as the last details are being finalized.

Although the proposed contract is scheduled to begin in July, Real Madrid is eager to sign him prior to the June start of the Club World Cup. Los Blancos will play Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia on June 18 to start the group stage. They will then play Pachuca of Mexico and Red Bull Salzburg of Austria.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that Liverpool has not agreed to let Alexander-Arnold leave his Liverpool before the end of his contract by June. In order to sign the full-back prior to the Club World Cup, Real Madrid is prepared to pay £500,000, but Liverpool is reportedly seeking more than £1 million. Unless the two clubs can come to an agreement soon, Alexander-Arnold might have to wait until the beginning of the following season to make his competitive Real Madrid debut.

Three games remain for the Liverpool academy product before he says goodbye to his boyhood club. The Premier League winners will host Arsenal on Sunday before playing Brighton & Albion and Crystal Palace to finish the season.
