According to reports, Ruben Amorim’s harsh remarks directed at Alejandro Garnacho after their argument last week have been leaked.
Garnacho publicly expressed his dissatisfaction at receiving just 20 minutes during last Wednesday’s Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur, igniting speculation that he would depart the team in the summer.
“I played every round helping the team up until the final, and today I play 20 minutes, I don’t know,” the winger told the media after the game.
“I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards, but the [Europa League] final will influence [my decision], as will the entire season and the club’s situation.”
Amorim didn’t make the Man United squad for Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, suggesting that those remarks did not sit well with him.
In a further twist, the Daily Mail has disclosed what the Manchester United manager said to the winger in front of the entire team following those remarks.
“You better hope that you can find a club to sign you,” Amorim told Garnacho without holding back.
Such statements imply that there is no turning back and that the two are no longer together, with the Argentine most likely leaving Manchester this summer.
Garnacho is currently being linked to a move to Napoli, the recently crowned Italian champions. Last summer, Napoli signed Scott McTominay, who later won the Serie A MVP Award.
There are a lot of parallels between the Marcus Rashford incident in January and the current one, in which Amorim publicly clashed with the club academy graduate.
Rashford would later go on loan to Aston Villa, and it looks like the former England international has no future at Old Trafford either. A permanent departure from the team is anticipated in due course.
Along with Antony, who had a successful stint on loan at Real Betis in 2025, Rashford and Garnacho are on the verge of leaving, but the Red Devils are not wasting any time in adding players in preparation for the upcoming campaign.
Following a stellar season at Ipswich Town, Liam Delap is also being linked to a move to Old Trafford, and Matheus Cunha is almost certain to join the team after United fulfilled the player’s release clause.
