Real Madrid is destroyed by PSG to secure a spot in Sunday’s club world cup final against Chelsea.

As Real Madrid lost 4-0 in the Club World Cup semi-final to a raging Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe had to put up with an awkward reunion with his old team. Los Blancos struggled the entire time, and Luis Enrique’s team embarrassed them with a combination of poor play and defensive blunders.

A couple of early Madrid attacks indicated that this match might be more competitive than most had anticipated, and the game was tied for the first five minutes or so. However, after Ousmane Dembele stopped Raul Asencio’s heavy touch, Fabian Ruiz finished into an open net, and Xabi Alonso’s team then collapsed defensively. Dembele ran through on goal and finished shortly after Antonio Rudiger kindly gave up the ball, making it even better.

After five PSG touches were required to move the ball from their own 18-yard box to a comfortable finish for the Spain midfielder, Ruiz scored his second goal of the game just before the half. It may have gotten worse by halftime as well, but Khvicha Kvaratskhelia missed ashot following a clever shuffle through the Madrid defence.

After an hour, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. were substituted, but Madrid didn’t really capitalize on PSG’s lack of effort in the second half. With three minutes remaining, Goncalo Ramos made it four after Luka Modric and Lucas Vazquez took the field for their final white-swan songs.
