Man United transfer news: Bryan Mbeumo’s Red Devils move “nears completion” as Brentford “increases” his price

According to reports, Brentford wants to raise the total price of the Bryan Mbeumo sale to Manchester United to £63 million, and talks between the two teams are almost finished.

The Cameroon international is expected to be Man United’s second summer acquisition after turning down offers from teams like Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Newcastle United.

Although it was previously reported that Man United would pay £60 million for Mbeumo, the London Evening Standard claims that the Bees are hoping to raise the final price to £63 million, including add-ons.

According to the report, the deal might surpass the £62.5 million that Wolverhampton Wanderers paid Ruben Amorim’s team earlier in the transfer window to sign Matheus Cunha.

In addition to the £8 million in add-ons, which are uncertain at this point in the process, Man United is anticipated to pay an upfront fee of £55 million for Mbeumo.

Mbeumo will join in time to join his new teammates for pre-season training on July 7 and is expected to earn around £250,000 per week, making him one of Old Trafford’s highest earners.

The 25-year-old would then be eligible to make his Red Devils debut on July 19 against Leeds United in their first summer friendly.

Throughout the 2024–25 season, Mbeumo was in outstanding form for the Bees, making 42 appearances across all competitions and recording 20 goals and nine assists.

In Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation, the forward is anticipated to play as a number 10, with Cunha on the other side, possibly behind a new center-forward.

In 242 appearances, including 42 goals and 30 assists in 136 Premier League games, Mbeumo will depart Brentford with 70 goals and 51 assists.

On August 17, the attacker may make his Premier League debut for Manchester United against Arsenal.
