Liverpool has been linked to an Alexander Isak alternative in an attempt to upgrade Darwin Nunez.

Victor Osimhen has continued to score goals in Turkey

Since Manchester City (Erling Haaland) and Newcastle United (Alexander Isak) are the only top teams with a dependable goal scorer in the “number nine” position right now, many teams are in dire need of one.

Even before Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz suffered season-ending injuries, Arsenal was in the market. Manchester United had only scored three Premier League goals from Rasmus Hojlund this season, and Chelsea was looking to upgrade from Nicolas Jackson.

Darwin Nunez has been a major source of annoyance for Liverpool due to his inconsistent play, which may cause the Uruguayan to leave the team despite continued ties to the Saudi Pro League. Diogo Jota has had trouble staying fit, and manager Arne Slot has chosen Cody Gakpo to play on the left side.

A number of strikers, including Osimhen, have been linked to all or most of the needy clubs in the past. According to Sky Sports, Liverpool has “admired for some time” the prolific Nigerian.

He is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli. Chelsea was interested in him last summer, but they were unable to come to an agreement with the Serie A team, who apparently thought he was unneeded.

When Napoli won the 2022–2023 Serie A championship, Osimhen scored 26 goals. However, after a contract extension to 2026 that included a €130 million (£111.5 million) release clause, his relationship with the club soured last season. He was eventually cut from the registered squad and Romelu Lukaku was given his position.

Compared to ideal target Isak, he is probably going to be available for a lot less now, making him a much more affordable option for Liverpool and others.

Osimhen, who turns 27 next season, has scored 20 goals in 23 games this season in Turkey’s Super Lig and 28 goals in 32 games across all competitions.

The other well-known strikers who are frequently connected to the different prestigious Premier League teams are Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko, and Viktor Gyokeres.
