Following Saturday’s Premier League match between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, the latter is reportedly ready to make another attempt to sign Savinho.
James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are sidelined by long-term injuries, and Spurs are desperate to strengthen their attacking ranks.
Tottenham lost the battle for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze to North London rivals Arsenal, despite Tottenham’s desire to join Thomas Frank’s team.
Tottenham is therefore considering other targets before the summer transfer window ends on September 1.
Tottenham is considering a number of players, including Savinho of Man City, but they have already lost at least one attempt to acquire the Brazilian.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that during the last ten days, Man City has blocked every attempt by Tottenham to sign Savinho.
Spurs, however, are prepared to try one final time to sign the winger before searching elsewhere for offensive reinforcements.
Following Saturday’s lunchtime kickoff between the two clubs at the Etihad Stadium, Tottenham is prepared to present an “improved bid” totaling more than €70 million (£60.7 million).
Savinho will miss the Premier League match due to injury, as Man City manager Pep Guardiola has already confirmed.
Only a year after acquiring Savinho from their sister club Troyes, the Citizens are hesitant to let him go.
Given that the Brazil international’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2029, they are undoubtedly not under any pressure to approve his departure.
Savinho would therefore need to advocate for the transfer in order for Man City to think about altering their position in the closing moments of the transfer window.
But the Citizens would probably want to find someone to replace him, which might include Rodrygo of Real Madrid.
The forward, who has fallen down the Santiago Bernabeu’s hierarchy, has already been linked to a possible move to Man City.
Should Rodrygo sign with Man City, it would open the door for his compatriot to head to North London.
