Inter Milan makes a better offer for Lookman.

In order to sign Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman, Inter Milan has put forward a new offer worth €42 million plus €3 million in bonuses (via journalist Gianluca Di Marzio).

Following the Bergamo club’s rejection of their initial bid of €40 million, the Nerazzurri have raised their offer.

With their most recent offer, Inter hopes to break the deadlock in the negotiations, while Atalanta remains firm on €50 million.

Lookman is still Inter’s top target for the summer transfer window. A five-year contract worth €4.5 million per season has been agreed upon on personal terms.

The forward from Nigeria is working hard to get a move to San Siro. He thinks he has a gentleman’s agreement with Atalanta that permits him to depart this summer in exchange for a suitable offer.

Inter, meanwhile, wants to avoid prolonging the talks and is anticipating a firm answer from La Dea in the next few days.

After Marko Arnautovic left, the Serie A powerhouses are trying to strengthen their attack, and Mehdi Taremi has been linked to a move away from San Siro.

Lookman, who has been targeted to complete the forward line alongside Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez, could arrive if Taremi leaves.

Over the last two seasons at Atalanta, Lookman has established himself as one of the most productive forwards in Europe, exhibiting remarkable consistency.

Last season, the 27-year-old helped Atalanta place among the top four in Serie A with 20 goals and seven assists. The previous season, he guided them to the Europa League championship.

With Cristian Chivu’s 3-4-3 formation, Lookman is thought to be the best choice to play as a left-sided forward.

During this window, Inter has already acquired Petar Sucic, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Luis Henrique.
