Following a busy summer transfer window in which the Reds signed big names like Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz, the 27-year-old has been linked to a move to pastures new.
The majority of supporters would believe that Chiesa’s move away would be minimally impacted by the former Everton, Leicester City, and Fulham forward’s decision to submit a transfer request.
But Lookman’s choice might be important because Atalanta, his current team, is rumored to be interested in signing the Italian.

“I have loved every moment but feel that now, after three wonderful years in Bergamo, it is the right time to move on and experience a new adventure,” read Lookman’s statement.
“There have been numerous clubs approach Atalanta in the past and I have previously always stayed loyal.
“However, myself and the ownership of the club have been in agreement that now is the right time and the club were clear with me that if a fair offer came in they would allow me to move.
“Despite now receiving an offer in alignment to what I believe had been discussed sadly the club are blocking the opportunity for reasons I do not understand.
“As a result and after many months of broken promises and what I feel has been poor treatment towards me as both a human being and as a professional footballer, sadly I feel I have no choice but to speak out for what I believe is right and feel that enough is enough.
“I can confirm I have now handed in a formal transfer request.”
If Lookman departs the Italian team this summer, they will have more money and a spot in the squad to quickly sign Chiesa.
This summer, Arne Slot’s team also added Will Wright, Freddie Woodman, Armin Pecsi, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong to their roster.
However, the summer transfer window is still open, and press reports indicate that Liverpool may be interested in Alexander Isak, a striker for Newcastle.
Despite making 14 appearances last season and contributing two goals and two assists, Chiesa has had a difficult time adjusting to life in the Premier League.
