According to an ESPN report on Thursday, legendary striker Cristiano Ronaldo has extended his stay in the Saudi Pro League by signing a new contract with Saudi powerhouse Al Nassr through 2027.

Ronaldo wrote on X, “A new chapter begins. Same dream, same passion. Together, let’s create history.

Following the World Cup in 2022, the star football player left Manchester United to sign with the Club as a free agent. He had a two-and-a-half-year contract.

He has scored 93 goals in 105 games for the team in all competitions. According to Forbes, the deal made him the highest-paid athlete in the world, and he has been at the top of this list for the past three years.

Ronaldo is 40 years old, and his total income is estimated to be $275 million.

He led Portugal to the UEFA Nations League title earlier this month, defeating Spain in the final, and he showed no signs of aging or decline.

He has already scored 932 goals and wants to reach 1,000. While he has scored 138 goals for Portugal, he has 794 goals for his club.

Ronaldo has yet to win the SPL championship, despite winning the Arab Club Champions Cup with Al Nassr. The team finished third in the 2024–25 season and second in the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons.

Back in May, Fernando Hierro, the club’s sporting director, stated that they were eager for the superstar to sign a new contract and that they were facing competition from other teams to re-sign the veteran.

His remarks followed Ronaldo’s suggestion that the season finale at Al-Fateh would be his final game for the team.
