Cody Gakpo has disassociated himself from rumors regarding his future at Liverpool. According to reports, Bayern Munich is interested in the Netherlands international after he helped the Reds win the Premier League.

The 26-year-old flourished at Anfield after Arne Slot, a Dutchman, was named Jurgen Klopp’s replacement. The forward had the best season of his Liverpool career after being moved back to his preferred left-wing position.

Gakpo returned 18 goals and six assists in 49 games across all competitions. And Bayern reportedly showed interest in this form after it became apparent that Florian Wirtz had rejected the Bavarians in favor of a move to Anfield.

As the Netherlands qualifies for the 2026 World Cup by playing Finland and Malta, Gakpo is currently away on international duty.

When called upon for press conference duties prior to the match against Finland, the forward was questioned about such transfer rumors.

He also stated that he has not heard of any interest from Bayern Munich, despite the fact that he did not use the chance to commit his future to Liverpool.

“I haven’t heard anything about it myself,” he said. “I’m closing myself off from it.

“Maybe my agent has heard something, but I’m focusing on myself.”

Following Liverpool’s successful £29.5 million acquisition of his Netherlands teammate earlier this month, Gakpo praised Jeremie Frimpong.

“For us, Jeremie is a very good addition,” he said. “With his speed and quality.

“But also because of his position, because Trent [Alexander-Arnold] is no longer with us.”

There are other Liverpool forwards whose futures have been the focus of conjecture in recent weeks besides Gakpo.

The Reds have turned down Barcelona’s offer for Luis Diaz, who acknowledged earlier this week that he was speaking with clubs, and Darwin Nunez is anticipated to move on.

After a year on the sidelines at Anfield, Federico Chiesa has stated that he is open to staying at Liverpool or going back to Italy, and Diogo Jota’s future is also uncertain.
