Chelsea’s transfer plans for the remainder of the transfer window may be delayed as Christopher Nkunku’s rumored move to Bayern Munich has reportedly stalled.
During the January transfer window, the German powerhouses attempted to sign Nkunku, but the deal fell through.
After Kingsley Coman left, Bayern still needs a good winger, and they have rekindled their interest in the French attacker Luis Diaz, who they signed from Liverpool.
The former RB Leipzig winger was recently the subject of loan negotiations with the Bundesliga champions, but Chelsea has made it clear that they will only consider a permanent sale.
Bayern’s pursuit of Nkunku has stalled, and it’s unclear if they would be willing to pay enough to sign the 27-year-old winger, according to a report from The Guardian.
The Frenchman, who was left out of Chelsea’s matchday squad for Sunday’s opening match against Crystal Palace, has been linked to moves to Newcastle United and Inter Milan.
Following the arrival of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Estevao, and Jamie Gittens at Stamford Bridge, Nkunku has fallen in the hierarchy, and if the Blues add more players to their forward positions, his status may worsen.
Chelsea would have been able to move more swiftly for their two top targets if they had struck a deal with Bayern for the winger, including Xavi of RB Leipzig.
