After making an offer worth £65 million plus £8.9 million in add-ons, Manchester United and RB Leipzig are now in the process of negotiating a deal.
Although a complete agreement has not yet been reached, the talks are moving in the right direction.
Following an initial offer of just under £70 million (€80 million) plus add-ons, Newcastle, who have also been negotiating a deal for Sesko, made a second bid earlier on Tuesday of £69.7 million plus add-ons, which was higher than Manchester United’s.
However, according to Sky Germany, Manchester United has negotiated with Leipzig to bring their base fee closer to £69.6 million (€80 million), plus potential add-ons.
Leipzig has not yet accepted Manchester United’s current bid because the terms of the offer are still being worked out.
Sky Germany thinks it would require more work, but Newcastle’s offer of a guaranteed £69.6 million (€80 million) plus add-ons satisfies the criteria.
Although personal terms are not anticipated to be a problem with either club, Sesko’s desire to join Old Trafford is becoming more and more apparent.
Due to his anticipated departure from the team, the 22-year-old did not play in RB Leipzig’s preseason friendly loss to Atalanta on Saturday. The striker trained indoors away from the team on Tuesday at Leipzig’s training complex after informing his teammates that he would be departing.
Sesko is treating RB Leipzig with the utmost respect and has a wonderful relationship with them. If he leaves, he wants to make sure it’s amicable. When a deal is reached, he is prepared to take a plane to the UK.Alexander Isak, a striker for Newcastle, may be affected by Manchester United’s bid for Sesko.
Only if they can bring in a ready-made replacement will Newcastle allow Isak to leave St. James’ Park.
Liverpool’s offer of £110 million plus add-ons was turned down by the Magpies.
Yoane Wissa, who is pushing for a move and was left out of Brentford’s squad for their friendly against QPR on Saturday, is another player Newcastle is interested in.
