According to a recent report, Manchester United INEOS regret spending £47 million on a player at Old Trafford, and their patience is running out.
Already, Man Utd is considering Amorim replacements.
The start to life in Manchester hasn’t exactly been what manager Ruben Amorim had hoped for, as his team is currently in the Premier League’s bottom half and has been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions.
Following last night’s FA Cup loss to Fulham, Amorim reiterated his lofty goals for the Red Devils: “The goal is to win the Premier League. I know that we are losing games but the goal is to win the Premier League again. “I don’t know how long it will take. We have a goal and we continue forward no matter what. It’s impossible to know but you start understanding the players are better and we understand the league. We’ll see in the future.”
Man Utd is currently considering replacing Amorim with a 4-3-3 World Cup-winning manager.
Four months have been an absolute nightmare….
Since many managers have been mentioned as possible Amorim replacements at Manchester United in recent rumors, it is unclear if Amorim will be the man to lead United back to the top.
Former Juventus player Massimiliano Allegri and Aston Villa’s Unai Emery have both surfaced as potential targets for Manchester United. If things don’t get better under Amorim, INEOS “could take drastic measures and accelerate the search for a replacement” and the co-owners regret one of their first Old Trafford acquisitions.
Manchester United regrets spending £47 million on Andre Onana.
Spanish reports claim that Manchester United regrets acquiring Andre Onana and calls his time at Old Trafford a “nightmare.”
The Cameroon international joined from Inter Milan in 2023 for about £47 million, and it’s safe to say that his time in England hasn’t gone as planned because the goalie has made a lot of mistakes.
Meanwhile, “the lack of assurances in goal has led the club to reconsider its trust in Onana and to explore possible solutions for the next season.” “Patience at United is running thin,” the statement continues.
Due to his current long-term contract and transfer fee, however, Onana’s departure won’t be easy. Former defender Paul Parker recently called him “useless” and decried the club’s decision to let David de Gea go.
“The problem is probably that the goalkeeper position won’t be a priority for a new signing, as there are so many other issues in other positions that need strengthening.
“I can’t help but think about why the club let David De Gea go. It was a really disgraceful way they parted with him after he was named Player of the Year three times in a row, and right now, it looks even more ridiculous because his replacement is so useless.”
In addition, Onana is said to want to remain at Old Trafford, so United’s position on the goalkeeper will be very interesting over the next few months.
