After yet another successful season with the Reds, Alexis Mac Allister, a midfielder for Liverpool, has responded to reports that he is considering a transfer to Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old Argentine is content at Anfield after joining for $47 million from Brighton in 2023. Reports that his son might be on the run were shot down by his father a few weeks ago, and now Mac Allister has expressed his own sentiments.
“I read the rumors and the news reaches me, but the important thing is the present,” he was quoted as telling TyC Sports. “No matter how much the club loves me, if I play poorly this weekend, they’ll lose interest.”
“I’m fine at Liverpool and I don’t have any need,” Mac Allister continued. “I have a lot of respect for the club, and I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about other clubs.”
He also discussed his experiences as a Liverpool player. Mac Allister remarked, “Some fans treat you with respect because I’m a bit far away, but they are more fervent in the city.”
“The group resembles a family. It may be summed up in one sentence: You’ll never walk alone. The anthem’s playing is a really potent moment. Among the most exquisite. The game doesn’t begin until it is finished.
According to Liverpool.com, Mac Allister has quietly had yet another fantastic season. Ryan Gravenberch has performed admirably in a new role, and players like Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah will receive more recognition, but Mac Allister has been equally successful in the starting lineup. He has maintained a high degree of consistency in his performance, much like in his first season with the Reds.
The South American fits in well in the Liverpool midfield and is ideal for the type of football that Arne Slot enjoys. The fact that Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai, and the Reds have a little bit of everything helps to explain why they are at the top of the Premier League league.
