Alexander Isak received a transfer “boost” from Liverpool, while Newcastle United’s “promise” was made public.

According to reports, Alexander Isak wishes to leave Newcastle United this summer because Liverpool is still being linked to a spectacular move for the forward. Since joining the Magpies from Real Sociedad in August 2022 for an estimated £63 million, the 25-year-old has been a revelation.

Isak has 62 goals overall in 109 games for the Magpies, helping the St James’ Park team earn two Champions League berths. In March, he scored in the 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final, ending the team’s 70-year domestic trophy drought.

But such outstanding performances have come at a price for Newcastle; Isak is now considered one of Europe’s most prolific strikers and has often been linked to moves to Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal.

Gianluca Di Marzio, an Italian journalist, claims that Newcastle’s concerns about losing Isak may now come true because the forward has reportedly informed them that he wishes to leave the team this summer.

“For Isak, it depends on Newcastle,” Di Marzio said when giving an update on the Sweden international’s future. “The player spoke to the coach and the club at the end of the season because he would like to leave, but Newcastle are not open to that, at the moment.”

“So it depends on Newcastle and Isak’s discussion, if the club will be open to having him on the market. Newcastle is a tough club and they want to keep their best players for next season, including Sandro Tonali.

“Isak would like to look at other options because at the end of this season, he had the promise from the club and the coach but Newcastle haven’t acted seriously on that yet.”

Isak has a deal with St. James’ Park through 2028.
