A surprise move from Manchester United could give Liverpool a huge boost in their pursuit of Alexander Isak.
Slot’s business in the transfer window is thought to be far from over, even though reports indicate that Liverpool is getting close to a British record deal for Florian Wirtz, a star for Bayer Leverkusen.
Wirtz’s old teammate Jeremie Frimpong, who will join Slot as Trent Alexander-Arnold’s replacement, was officially signed by the Reds earlier in the transfer window.
Following the announcement of the Wirtz deal, Liverpool is expected to focus on defender Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth before considering their options for a new striker, with Isak of Newcastle United being the ideal candidate.
Even though it was first thought that Isak was not for sale, new reports indicate that Liverpool is unwilling to give up on the Swedish international, and a recent report suggests Manchester United could give them a significant boost.

United seems to be concentrating most of their attention on selling players, while Liverpool concentrates on new signings in the early stages of the transfer window.
United is now evaluating their options for selling players like Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho after landing a deal for former Wolves striker Matheus Cunha.
Despite interest from teams like Barcelona, Newcastle has emerged as one of the favorites to sign Rashford this summer, according to a recent report from The Sun.
The England international’s recent stint with Aston Villa is rumored to have impressed Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, who wants to bring him to St James’ Park on a season-long loan.
With Howe adding another star forward to the team, Newcastle may be able to sell Isak this summer if they are successful in their pursuit of Rashford.
Alternatively, the Magpies might be open to letting Anthony Gordon, who has also been frequently linked to Liverpool, go in the summer if they sign a new winger.
But according to the report, Howe currently sees Rashford as a squad member to alternate with Isak rather than a replacement.
