Following their defeat in the Europa League final, Manchester United has made a decision regarding Ruben Amorim’s future.
United lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday night, possibly their worst loss of the depressing season.
Both teams’ supporters knew going into the game that winning would guarantee them a spot in the Champions League the following season, while losing could have disastrous long-term repercussions.
Both United manager Amorim and Spurs manager Ange Postecoglu were under pressure, and if they didn’t win the Europa League trophy, they might lose their jobs.
United has also made a decision regarding Amorim’s future in light of the outcome.

Nobody would be surprised if United decided to fire Amorim at the end of the season after finishing the Premier League in 16th or 17th place and losing all of the cup competitions.
But according to a report published by The Times prior to the match, United made the decision to remain with Amorim regardless of the outcome at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao.
According to the report, Amorim’s job is completely secure and he will be back in the United dugout the following season unless he decides to leave.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the chairman of INEOS and a co-owner of United, is said to hold Amorim in such high regard that he would try to dissuade him from leaving even if he decided to do so in the summer.

According to Amorim after the defeat to Spurs, “If the board and fans feel I am not the right guy, 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧… but I’ll not quit”.
Amorim has lost 13 league games, drawn six, and won just six since taking over in November. This season has been the team’s worst since the Premier League began in 1992.
If United loses their season-ending match against Aston Villa at Old Trafford, they will finish with 39 points, which would be enough to drop them in three Premier League seasons.
