After a failed move to Inter Milan, Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman was spotted at Atalanta. After submitting two bids, the 20-time Serie A champions had been attempting for more than a month to sign the 2023 AFCON silver medallist.
Atalanta quickly turned down the Nerazzurri’s initial offer, which was a €40 million package. The three-time UEFA Champions League champion was rejected when he returned with an enhanced offer of €45 million, including add-ons.
The Nation claims that Lookman’s two-week strike demonstrated his determination to finalize a move to San Siro this summer.
Regretfully, Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi maintained that he would not approve a transfer to a Serie A team.
Since Atalanta considers the forward a vital member of their team and has no plans to sell him, especially at this late stage of the transfer window, they have stuck to their guns. Lookman will be sanctioned.
Following his unsuccessful attempt, Ademola Lookman is probably going to face consequences from Atalanta’s management. Calciomercato claims that following a two-week protest, the 27-year-old will have to apologize to the club.
The Nigerian international is willing to be used as a scapegoat by La Dea.
Ademola Lookman, meanwhile, is upset with the team for not keeping their word to release him following the last season’s conclusion, according to Goal.
