According to UK promoter Frank Warren, Anthony Joshua’s fight has “massive appeal,” even though Tyson Fury may want to exact revenge on Oleksandr Usyk.

Last year, Fury lost two close decisions against Usyk of Ukraine for the world heavyweight title. He declared his retirement in January, but in recent months, he has frequently shared videos of himself working out, which has fueled rumors that he will soon make a comeback.

Fury’s matchup with Joshua, another British heavyweight sensation, is a no-brainer. AJ and Fury both held world titles at the same time, but they never faced off while they were champions.

But their rivalry still exists.

“Tyson and AJ is the fight that hasn’t happened,” Warren told Sky News. Perhaps it will—who knows. Therefore, that has a lot of appeal.

However, Fury might still be motivated by the prospect of a third fight with Usyk.

“But Tyson to get the fight [with Usyk], get revenge [after] what he feels, and I feel certainly in one of the fights, was a fight that he won, that’s again a great, big fight,”. “But you know what, Daniel Dubois is going to beat Usyk. So that’s going to throw a bomb in the middle of it all.” Warren stated.

After Daniel Dubois defeated Joshua via knockout in September, Warren did counsel Joshua against seeking a rematch.

Warren remarked of Dubois, “You see the first fight, he’s getting better and better.”

“AJ has a difficult battle ahead of him. AJ is a fighting man and a two-time world champion, so I can see where he’s coming from. However, I hate to say it, this sport is primarily for young men.

“Unless you work as a promoter.”
