Man United has “reopened talks” for Victor Osimhen of Napoli after the transfer fee and salary offer were made public.

Transfer fee, salary offer revealed as Man United 'reopen talks' with Napoli's Osimhen

After his planned move to Saudi Arabia fell through, Manchester United appears to have resumed negotiations to sign Victor Osimhen, a forward for Napoli.

The Nigerian international, who scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 games across all competitions in a Galatasaray uniform last season, will not be joining the Turkish team on a permanent basis.

Rather, it was thought that Osimhen was nearing a deal with Al-Hilal, the Saudi Pro League’s biggest team, but the striker was unable to reach an agreement with Simone Inzaghi’s team, and the deal fell through.

However, Osimhen is anticipated to join another European team during the summer transfer window because his relationship with Napoli manager Antonio Conte appears to be irreparably damaged.

Osimhen’s most likely next destination seems to be the Premier League once more, and it was recently reported that Liverpool was considering making an approach for the 26-year-old.

Man United ‘resume talks’ over Osimhen deal

But according to FootMercato, Man United has rekindled negotiations to sign Osimhen and has already spoken about the striker’s pay and a possible transfer fee.

According to reports, the Red Devils are willing to pay the Serie A champions €75 million (£63.8 million), including bonuses, and would be willing to pay the Napoli striker an incredible €12 million (£10.2 million) annually.

The Partenopei might not be able to refuse such a generous offer because Osimhen only has one year left on his contract with Napoli, lest they risk him leaving for nothing in 2026.

Even with that price, Napoli would still lose a little money on the player they paid Lille €78.9 million (£67.2 million) for in 2020, after he has since scored 76 goals and provided 18 assists in 133 games across all competitions.

Osimhen scored an unprecedented 26 goals in 32 Serie A games during Napoli’s 2022–2023 championship season, but Romelu Lukaku’s arrival last summer kept him out of Conte’s squad.

It’s unclear if the Blues will make another attempt this summer after the Nigerian was at the center of a memorable deadline day last summer involving Chelsea and Al-Ahli, where neither move came to pass.

What about Viktor Gyokeres?

Given the most recent events in that pursuit as well, Man United’s alleged re-entry into the Osimhen race may cast doubt on their pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres.

Despite their interest in Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig, Arsenal is still in the running, but Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to get back together with his former Sporting Lisbon star.

According to reports, the Gunners have made their first formal offer for the Sweden international, but his Portuguese club is probably going to turn it down.

Because of the close bond between Amorim and Gyokeres, Man United cannot be ruled out of the race, but they need to decide on their top target as soon as possible.
