Victor Osimhen rejects a £63 million transfer to Saudi, giving Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea a boost.

Victor Osimhen

After Victor Osimhen turned down a £63 million summer transfer, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea have rekindled their hopes of acquiring him.

Following his successful loan stint at Galatasaray, Osimhen has been linked to several elite Premier League clubs.

After Antonio Conte effectively expelled Osimhen from Napoli last summer, he moved to Galatasaray and scored 37 goals across all competitions to help the Turkish team win the league.

To the annoyance of the Chelsea delegation that had traveled to Naples to reach an agreement, Osimhen only joined Galatasaray after a last-minute move to Stamford Bridge fell through.

The Blues have talked about making a new move for Osimhen because they want to add at least one more forward to Enzo Maresca’s attacking options.

The 26-year-old has also surfaced as a possible target for Manchester United and Arsenal, but as he got closer to moving to Saudi Arabia, it seemed like the Premier League teams would all lose out.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli and Al Hilal reached an agreement last week for a £63 million deal, but Osimhen has since turned down the Saudi powerhouse’s offer, and the deal has fallen through.

Potential suitors for Osimhen, who scored more than one goal every two games for Napoli prior to Conte’s exile, will be pleased to hear that.

Although neither Manchester United nor Arsenal have signed any new strikers, it seems inevitable that goal scorers will soon make their way to Old Trafford and the Emirates Stadium.

Viktor Gyokeres, the Swedish No. 9 for Sporting Lisbon who scored 54 goals the previous season, seems to be United’s current top pick.

Although Gyokeres has worked with Amorim in the past, there is no assurance that he will end up at Old Trafford as several clubs are interested in him.

Although they seem to be prioritizing a move for Benjamin Sesko, a striker for RB Leipzig and Slovenia who is valued at about £70 million, Arsenal also has admiration for Gyokeres.

Osimhen’s close friend John Obi Mikel thinks the Nigerian could make it to the Premier League by the beginning of the 2025–2026 campaign.

He told Metro, “I hope there is still a Premier League move for him this summer.” “I believe that teams like Manchester United and Arsenal still require a striker.”

“[Rasmus] Hojlund isn’t the right man for Manchester United,” I said. He works hard and runs around, but he won’t score goals, place them in the top four, or bring them trophies.

Manchester United may be the next stop for me. He still has a lot to offer in Europe, so I don’t want to see him in Saudi Arabia just yet.

It would be unfortunate if he went there. Thus, he may also have options with Arsenal, United, Juventus, and PSG. Let’s wait and see.
