Lewis Hamilton says he is “positive” and “hungry” about Ferrari’s 2025 Formula 1 move.

In February of last year, Lewis Hamilton signed a multi-year contract with Ferrari. The seven-time world champion turns 40 on January 7; Sky Sports F1 will broadcast all of the 2025 season’s races live, beginning with the Australian Grand Prix from March 14–16.

As he gets ready for his debut season with Ferrari in 2025, Lewis Hamilton says he “could not be more excited” for the upcoming year.

Hamilton, who turns 40 on January 7, wrote on LinkedIn that he is excited to start working with his new team after agreeing to a multi-year contract in February of last year.

With 105 victories and 104 pole positions, the seven-time world champion is the most successful driver in Formula One history. The only other driver with seven world championships is Michael Schumacher.

“I could not be more excited for the year ahead,” wrote Hamilton in his post. “Moving to Scuderia Ferrari, there’s a lot to reflect on. “To anyone considering their next move in 2025: embrace the change. Whether you’re switching industries, learning a new skill, or even just taking on new challenges, remember that reinvention is powerful. “Your next opportunity is always within reach. Here’s to 2025 – a year of embracing new opportunities, staying hungry, and driving forward with purpose. Let’s make it one to remember. Andiamo #newjob.”

At Ferrari, Hamilton replaces Carlos Sainz, who has since switched to Williams, with Charles Leclerc. In 2025, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen hopes to win the Formula One world championship five times in a row, something Schumacher only accomplished from 2000 to 2004.

For the second year in a row, the 2025 season schedule includes 24 Grands Prix, but it begins in Melbourne, Australia on March 16 with Albert Park hosting its first season opener since 2019.
