Isak, a striker for Sweden, is reportedly adamant about leaving Newcastle to join Liverpool.
However, Newcastle has so far refused the Reds’ £110 million offer earlier this month.
The 25-year-old Isak has scored 62 goals in his 109 club appearances, and the Magpies have stated they have no plans to let him leave.
Including players in any deal for Isak is one way Liverpool might be able to persuade Newcastle to sell.
In fact, Newcastle has previously expressed interest in Joe Gomez. The England international acknowledged last summer that he could have left Liverpool after Howe’s team made a £45 million offer for him.
“It was for real,” Gomez declared in November. “My attention was always on the team, but I am aware of how fortunate I am to be here, and this summer will mark my tenth year [at Liverpool].”
That is not something I take for granted. I think it is the greatest club in the world, and it only took a short while to adjust and get into the swing of things. Putting it to bed was a good idea. Football is that. I firmly think that living in the moment is important.
It would not be natural to be somewhere for ten years and not experience any blips, which likely reflects my ambition. I adore being here. I adore the club.
Given that Newcastle is expected to sign Giovanni Leoni, a teenage center-back from Parma, Gomez might be a possible addition to the team. Marc Guehi, the captain of Crystal Palace, is rumored to be a target for Liverpool.
In other news, Howe’s team may be interested in Harvey Elliott. Last month, former Manchester United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the England U21 international was a target for Newcastle.
“The most recent names I’ve heard are Newcastle and Tottenham; both of them are going to test the waters and see what it would take to bring him in,” Brown stated.
