former Barcelona midfielder was hospitalized after his genitalia were bitten by a dog.

Perez was walking his dog on Tuesday morning when the incident occurred in Thermi, a suburb on the southern outskirts of Thessaloniki.

Perez’s dog was attacked by another dog while they were out for a walk, and the 27-year-old was bitten on the genitalia while attempting to separate the two animals. After sustaining a “deep gash” to his genitals that needed six stitches, the Spanish midfielder was transported to a private hospital in Panorama, another suburb outside of Thessaloniki.
On Wednesday, Aris verified that Perez had a “soft tissue infection” as a result of the dog bite.

Perez will now not play in Thursday’s UEFA Conference League qualifier for Aris against Araz-Nakhchivan, a team from Azerbaijan.

Marinos Ouzounidis, the manager of Aris, stated in a statement on Wednesday that Perez was scheduled to start against Araz-Nakhchivan.

“Carles would have started,” Ouzounidis stated during a press conference.
“This incident occurred, but we can’t continue to think about it.” We have worked on alternative solutions, which are currently on my mind.

For this reason, I maintain that having players with personality is crucial. Therefore, I’m curious about the group of players I’ll have available to me, and I want them to do their best.

In addition to playing for Roma, Celta, and Getafe, Perez made his first-team debut for Barcelona in 2019.

Earlier this month, he left Celta to sign a season-long loan with Aris of the Greek Super League.
