Walker had entered the last year of his Man City contract when he signed a two-year contract with the recently promoted Premier League team.
It is believed that City could save £10 million on Walker’s contract’s final year.
Following the arrivals of Max Weiss, Quilindschy Hartman, Axel Tuanzebe, and Loum Tchouana, as well as the permanent loan agreements for Bashir Humphreys, Marcus Edwards, Zian Flemming, and Jaidon Anthony, Burnley has added the seasoned Premier League defender as their newest summer addition.
Walker and Burnley manager Scott Parker were teammates with England and played together at Tottenham from 2011 to 2013.
Walker made 16 appearances in all competitions during the second half of the previous season while on loan at AC Milan, but the Serie A team chose not to pursue the possibility of a permanent contract.
He now leaves City after an eight-year, trophy-filled tenure at the Etihad Stadium, during which he helped the team win 17 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League as part of their treble-winning 2022–2023 season.
